The second monitoring survey of the new populations at Salina Calcara

The second monitoring survey of the two new populations planted last February at Salina Calcara was carried out. Two months after plantation the survival rate is high (94%). A few plants (1%) show evident symptoms of stress, while 52% of the surviving plants bear flower buds, 25% are in bloom and 5% have ripening fruit.

Regarding the two populations planted in February 2020, the situation since last monitoring is stable; survival rate one year after reintroduction is about 65%, and currently 100% of the surviving plants are in full bloom, with a good production of flower buds and ripening fruit, and with new seedlings originating from natural dissemination increasing.
