Action D.1 – Monitoring the impact of concrete actions on the conservation status of the target species

Concluded the third monitoring of the plantation carried out at Salina Calcara, within the activity ’Reintroduction of Calendula maritima according to the criteria of species translocation’ (Action C.3). About three months after planting, despite the adverse weather conditions of the past weeks characterized by a strong scirocco (warm and dry) wind, 56% of the plants is healthy, 60% bears flower buds, 33% is in full blooming and 70% will soon disperse the seeds. Among the planted individuals, 11% did not survive, whilst among those established, 33% shows clear symptoms of water stress.
