The monitoring of the two new populations of Salina Calcara and Cala Pozzo (Favignana Island) was carried out. The young plants translocated about one month ago have a survival rate of 91% and 96%, respectively. Also the translocations of 2021 have a satisfactory survival rate (35% and 40%, respectively). Due to winter storms, the nearest nuclei to the coastline were completely buried by remains of Posidonia oceanica and most often did not survive. However, most of the established plants are in good health and at least 65% have already completed flowering, whereas 20% have fructified. With regards to the plants translocated in February 2020 the situation in both sites is much better than in 2021. In particular, the survival rate is stable at Favignana (55%), while at Salina Calcara there is a slight decrease due to the recent storms that have caused the death of several plants. As a whole, the established nuclei are in good health and 31 to 70% are fruiting for the second year. An effective indicator of the success of the action relies on the numerous new plantlet issuing from natural dispersal and by now already fruiting.
