The second monitoring survey was carried out on the reinforcement intervention carried out in December 2020 at Isola Lunga. Compared to the previous monitoring, a slight increase in the mortality rate was detected, and currently about 33% of the 250 plants planted survived. 36% of them show symptoms of water stress. Nonetheless, 27% of the plants bear flower buds, 8% are in bloom and 2% already produced seeds. The impact of browsing of feral rabbits (and perhaps of black rats) on the local population remains critical, considering that 12% of the plants show preyed flowers.
