The first monitoring survey was carried out on the second reinforcement intervention realized in December on Colombaia Island. 160 new young seedlings were reintroduced, due to adverse weather conditions, we observed a survival rate of about 40%, slightly lower than that recorded in the previous intervention. Most of the surviving plants are in excellent health, 83% have flower buds, 58% are already in bloom and 13% already have ripening seeds.
Regarding the previous reinforcement activity at Colombaia Island and Ronciglio, it should be noted that the reintroduced plants show a survival rate of 74% and 34% respectively, and can now be considered permanently established. As for the natural renewal of the reintroduced nuclei, at the moment it has only been recorded at the Ronciglio site.
