In the framework of action ‘C5 – Control of alien species’, the areas cleared from the invasive exotic plant Carpobrotus edulis were monitored. Four months after eradication, most of the areas were colonized by the spontaneous annual vegetation typical for these environments. Only in two out of 5 sites some renewal was noticed, mostly issuing from the development of vegetative fragments eventually escaped from removal activities following eradication.
